Life may be a hurricane…

If you have someone in your family with special needs, if you are a parent, sibling, aunt, uncle, grandparent, caregiver, or friend – you know what a storm life can be sometimes. The wind blows you one way, then turns without warning. Things are torn down, moved, and sometimes destroyed. But you also know that in the eye of that storm, where you often stand watching the turmoil around you, it is beautiful. Peace and joy comes from unexpected places; strength is found in adversity, and it really is a beautiful life.

It is in this center that we gather – friends, family, and challenged individuals. We support one another; we pull each other in from the storm, and we offer congratulations and solace, and sometimes just a hug or a smile. We live the eye of this storm, and although we sometimes wish we didn’t, we know that it truly is beautiful – even if we are the only ones who see it.

  1. This made my eyes water! It’s absolutely beautiful, Kat! You did a fantastic job on this website. What a great resource for families to go to no matter how long they have been on this journey. I couldn’t have said it better-it’s definitely hard, but I couldn’t imagine my life without Kyleigh in it and God wouldn’t give us more than we could handle! 🙂
